Bikes come in many shapes and sizes. The following information provides you with further details about hiring tandem bikes, adapted bikes, trikes and e-bikes for free. If you are not familiar with these types of bikes, why not try them using one of the offers on this page or pay to hire them at a bike hire shop.

Free Tandem Loans
We've teamed up with registered charity Charlotte's Tandems to lend tandems to people with special needs or disabilities free of charge, allowing them to get out and about on a bicycle. Find out about the scheme on the Charlotte's Tandems website.
Free adult cycle training with the use of trikes, tandems and adapted bikes
Free adult cycle training is available and offers coaching with the opportunity to ride trikes, tandems and adapted bikes during the session alongside a qualified instructor, which allows everyone to try cycling. Free E-Cycle Loan Scheme
The E-Cycle Loan Scheme is aimed at people who are not currently working and therefore do not have access to the Cycle to Work Scheme, particularly including retired people and non-working parents.
- Participants will be provided with personal liability insurance as well as insurance for loss or damage of the E-Cycle.
- Participants have exclusive use of an E-Cycle for one month
We encourage potential partner organisations to get in touch with Bikespace if they work with groups who would benefit.
