Financial assistance for empty homes

For 2020, we have committed £500,000 of capital funding to help bring empty homes back into use in the city. We're offering interest free loans of up to £50,000 per dwelling, with a maximum amount of £150,000 per property, to help private owners to renovate their empty homes and/or convert empty non-domestic buildings to residential dwellings for reoccupation through letting.

In addition to loans for private individuals, we're offering loans to companies at low rate of interest to bring back or convert empty property into residential accommodation for letting. Company loans are subject to the same conditions and level of loan, in other words, £50,000 per dwelling up to a maximum amount of £150,000 per property.
