King's Coronation celebrations moved to the Guildhall

The public screening and celebrations planned for the King’s Coronation this weekend will now take place in the Guildhall due to the forecast of poor weather on Saturday.

The public screenings of the Coronation on Saturday and the concert from Windsor Castle on Sunday evening were due to take place on the Barbican.

The street and stage entertainment, as well as The Big Lunch ‘street party’ will also move to the Guildhall.

The village fete atmosphere will incorporate community stalls, 'street style' entertainment and activities and a large table where everyone can gather together. You can bring your own picnic to share and enjoy the occasion with family and friends.

The Guildhall will open from 10am on Saturday 6 May and Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Sue Dann, will welcome everyone before the live streaming of the Coronation ceremony.

Doors to the Guildhall will open from 2pm on Sunday 7 May where a variety of bands will provide entertainment in the lead up to the live streaming of the Coronation Concert from Windsor Castle at 8pm.

You can check the latest information and see the full range of entertainment that will be in the Guildhall over the weekend on the Visit Plymouth website.
