The slipway is free for public use for the launching and recovery of boats. It's best suited to boats being launched from trailers towed by four wheel drive vehicles. It is relatively steep and can also be slippery due to the nature of the cobbled surface.

- Located at Devonport (map grid reference SX 4524 5400)
- 7 metres wide cobbled public slipway
- Provides access to the water for three to four hours either side of high water
- The harbour will dry out at spring low water tides
Although the area beyond the end of the slip is relatively firm it is not recommended to launch or recover a boat using a car and trailer when the water level has dropped beneath the end of the slipway.
How to get there
From Stonehouse Bridge head towards Devonport. At the mini roundabout turn left and head down George Street. Take the third junction on the right into Clowance Street.
Continue along Clowance Street onto Prospect Row to the junction with James Street. Turn left and follow James Street to Mutton Cove. Access to the slip is by the car park on the right hand side of this road.

Toilets are located nearby, close at about 6pm in the summer and are closed in the winter and provide:

A café is located to the east between the slipway and the Mount Wise swimming pools and open during the summer.
