The emergency closure on Oreston Road, between Pomphlett Roundabout and Rollis Park Road, will remain in place until further notice.
We implemented the closure yesterday due to concerns about the stability of the ‘cliff face’ alongside the road, above the Royal Mail sorting depot.
It will remain in place 24 hours a day, while structural investigations continue to establish what action may need to be taken.
The road is closed in both directions, although pedestrians are being allowed to use the inner footway.
Traffic is being diverted via Plymstock Road, Dean Cross Road and Pomphlett Road.
