Where to pick up free test kits this week

Our mobile testing team will be visiting new locations around the city over the coming weeks to hand out free COVID-19 test kits.

Everyone in England is being encouraged to take two rapid COVID-19 tests a week even if they do not have any symptoms as rapid testing is an essential part of easing restrictions, alongside the roll-out of the vaccine. Regular testing helps identify variants and stops individual cases from becoming outbreaks.

You can pick up tests at our site at the Place de Brest in the city centre, which is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. The site offers assisted testing and hands out home testing kits. Each box contains seven individual tests and should last one person three and a half weeks, when testing twice a week.

Our team will also be handing out free COVID-19 testing kits at these sites:

  • Thursday 12 August: Frankfort Gate
  • Tuesday 17 August: Tamar View Community Centre
  • Wednesday 18 August: Salvation Army, Morice Town
  • Thursday 19 August: Frankfort Gate
  • Friday 20 August: Plymouth Life Centre
  • Saturday 21 August: Tamar View Community Centre

  • Sunday 22 August: Barbican Leisure Park

All sites are operational 10am to 3pm.

Our network of libraries are also available for picking up home testing kits, but tests themselves will not take place at these locations.

All of the city’s pharmacies also now stock the testing kits and you can also order them online or through 119 to have a kit delivered to your home.
