Council publishes hub to help families with the rising cost of living

A new online support hub has been published to help Plymouth families struggling with the rising cost of living to find the support they need.

At the full Council meeting yesterday (20 June), the Council Leader announced the launch of the new website that signposts a wide range of help – from welfare benefits such as universal credit to where to get help with gas and electricity bills.

The hub also includes information on help with Council Tax, housing costs, how to access food banks, as well as how to contact voluntary organisations working across the city.

Following the meeting, Councillor Richard Bingley said: “We recognise that the rising cost of living is a real worry for hard-working households in Plymouth and across the country as a whole. We want to do what we can to help and have put together this website to make it easier for people to find the support they need. Remember – if you are struggling you are not alone. There is no shame in asking for help.”

As more support becomes available, the hub will be updated. Visit the Hub here www.plymouth.gov.uk/costofliving
