There will be some road closures and other traffic management measures in place from next week, while refurbishment works are carried out on footbridges on Gdynia Way and Laira Bridge Road.
Works on the three footbridges will include repairs to the balustrades, drainage improvements, renewal of the surfacing and a complete repaint.
The following traffic management will be in place:
Weekdays from Monday 14 to Friday 25 June
The outbound side of Laira Bridge Road will be closed, from Embankment Road to Heles Terrace. Traffic will be diverted via Embankment Road (the bus gate restrictions between Florence Place and Wentworth Place will be suspended during the closure).
One lane will also be closed on the outbound side of Embankment Road, from Grenville Road to Heles Terrace, to allow bus movements onto Heles Terrace.
Weekends from Saturday 19 June to Monday 5 July (8pm on Saturday through to 6am on Monday).
Then Saturday and Sunday nights only from Saturday 9 to Monday 19 July (11.30pm to 6am)
The outbound side of Gdynia Way will be closed completely and the inbound side will be closed from Embankment Lane to Shapters Road.
Outbound traffic will be diverted from Cattedown Roundabout via Embankment Road (the bus gate restrictions between Florence Place and Wentworth Place will be suspended during the closure). Inbound traffic will be diverted via Laira Bridge Road to Cattedown Roundabout.
Traffic will not be able to access Embankment Lane from either side of Laira Bridge Road.
