We love Plymouth’s parks, you love Plymouth’s parks and now we've got a reason to celebrate them together - Love Parks Week 2022.
Running from Friday 29 July to Friday August 5, we've got loads of fantastic events planned at parks across Plymouth throughout the week for residents to get involved with.
Love Parks Week is a national campaign led by Keep Britain Tidy and this year we're putting a special focus on nature.
So come along and get involved in some of these amazing events. All events are free but some you will need to book.
Beyond Face performance at Devonport Park
Friday 29 July, 2pm and 5pm
Join Beyond Face CIC as they share a performance from their Roots in Nature project, as part of their Green Minds Creative Commission.
Litter picks and beach cleans for Preventing Plastic Pollution, Saltram Beach
Friday 29 July, 11 to 12pm
Join us at these one hour events to help clean up Plymouth’s Waterfront and become part of an international citizen science research project.
Forest Nature Walk
Friday 29 July, 11am to 1pm
Led by a National Trust Ranger, this nature walk will introduce you to woodland habitat structures and how they support a variety of wildlife and plant species. Join us for a journey through a magical forest and find out what wonders live within.
This walk is suitable to all those interested in the outdoors whether you want to meet other people interested in nature or are looking to learn more about it.
Sail GP
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July
General promotion of blue projects with exhibitions and displays. Connecting people to the sea, linking issues like pollution and recreational impacts.
Art and Energy Plymouth Sound Arts project - Sail GP Blue/Green Village
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July
Art and Energy are inviting visitors to add to a large canvas depicting Plymouth Sound. The resulting artworks will raise awareness of Plymouth City Council's Climate Action Plan and will invite people to explore the blue/green themes in Plymouth, understanding how low carbon energy, energy efficiency, enhancing green space and carbon sequestering marine plants are part of our journey responding to the climate emergency.
Green Hands Family Fun: Butterflies and Reptiles at Central Park
Saturday 30, 10am to 3pm
Parks are full of wonderful wildlife- come along and take part in some nature crafts and fun.
Green to Blue Nature Walk
Monday 1 August, 10am to 12pm
Led by a National Trust Ranger, this nature walk will introduce you to habitats from green spaces to blue spaces that support wildlife and plants. Find out about the flora and fauna of woodlands and estuaries. Take a journey through green and blue in one of Plymouth's beautiful nature spaces and learn all about the little creatures and plant species that live in the city.
This walk is suitable for all those interested in the outdoors whether you want to meet other people interested in nature or are looking to learn more about it.
Junior Urban Ranger Day
Tuesday 2 August
Plymouth Natural Grid is running a year-long campaign in partnership with Saltram National Trust to inspiring young nature ambassadors to care for nature in Plymouth. We will be running fun nature activities and each new Junior Urban Ranger walks away with a certificate!
For this year's International Ranger Day, we will celebrate by inspiring a group of new Junior Urban Rangers.

Come and meet Green Minds, who are celebrating Love Parks Week, and make some crafty items that you can take home to inspire you to help our wonderful local pollinators!
Bug Hunt, Plymview Pitch, Efford
Tuesday 2 August, 10am to 12pm
Celebrate and connect to wildlife in the park using a bug hunt. Engage community /local children in artwork/nature designs which will go on to inspire the artwork which will be painted on the new local sports team's container.
Green and blue activities, Drake Circus
Wednesday 3 August
Come and learn about the Blue and Green Projects happening around Plymouth. ReMEDIES, Preventing Plastic Pollution and Green Minds projects will have some fun activities and information available all day between 9am and 6pm - you can find us by the escalator outside Primark

Wild Futures: Plymouth's New Green Economy networking event

Join us for this event as part of Love Parks Week in collaboration with Future parks Accelerator, Green Minds, Green Thinkers, Plymouth National Marine Park, Plymouth City Council and Real Ideas.
Plymouth is home to an innovative and growing green and blue economy, with many impactful and talented ecological and community-led businesses, striving to strengthen local economies, create jobs, and green the grey. This event is for anyone interested in the social, green, and blue economy - you may be a fledgling start-up, social or environmental enterprise, established business or interested in gaining experience and skills. Come along to connect, be inspired, and find out what’s next for you and Plymouth.
Blossom Together and celebration day
