Closures and partial closures as of 4pm on Wednesday 18 March 2020
Lipson Co-operative Academy will be closed to all year groups until Tuesday 14 April.
Eggbuckland Community College will be open for students in years 7, 8, 11 and 13 only. Students in years 9, 10 and 12 should return on Tuesday 14 April.
Marine Academy Plymouth will be open for students in years 11, 12 and 13 only. Students in years 7, 8, 9 and 10 should return on Tuesday 14 April.
Coombe Dean and Hele's School are open to all year groups except year 12. Students in year 12 at Coombe Dean should return on Monday 23 March. Students in year 12 at Hele's should wait for further notice.
Tor Bridge High is closed to year 12 students until further notice. The school will be closed to year 8 students on Thursday 19 but they should attend on Friday 20 March. The school will be closed to year 9 on Friday 20 and students should return on Monday 23 March.
All of these closures are due to a number of staff self-isolating as a precaution at home, meaning the ratio of staff to students is unmanageable.
Closures as of 4pm on Tuesday 17 March 2020
Woodlands, Cann Bridge and Mill Ford schools will be closing from the end of the day today (Tuesday) until further notice.
Public Health England has advised all people who have long term health conditions, or a range of factors that make them vulnerable, to socially distance themselves and remain in their homes. All three schools have a number of pupils and students who fall into this category.
Sir John Hunt Community Sports College will also be closing until Monday 23 March because a number of staff are self-isolating as a precaution at home, meaning the ratio of staff to students is unmanageable.
These closures are not as a result of further confirmed cases of the COVID19 virus in any of the schools or anyone showing symptoms. They are entirely proactive based on the assessment of risk.
All four of the schools have already communicated specifics about their closures with parents.
