Central Park

Work on Central Park's new attraction is about to start.

Central Park’s Community Sports Hub is set to be take centre stage in an exciting new social prescribing project.

The sports hub, which opened just prior to the pandemic in March 2020, is situated in the heart of the park on the site of the old bowling pavilion and complements the existing bowling greens.

Residents and businesses are being asked for their say on the review of a Public Space Protection Order designed to reduce dog fouling.

The Council is proposing some changes which include ensuring that dog owners have a means to pick up after their dog as well as extending the dogs on lead zone in Central Park. A change to dog controls on sports pitches is also in the plans.

Central Park's new Community Sports Hub is complete.

Situated in the heart of the park on the site of the old bowling pavilion, the hub complements the current bowling greens as well as the refurbished sports plateau by adding changing rooms, accessible toilets and storage facilities; opening up the park to a wider range of outdoor sports.
