A long-term road closure planned for the Forder Valley Link Road is to be significantly reduced, thanks to the ongoing efforts of the project team and contractors.
The western section of Forder Valley Road (between Novorossiysk Road and Fort Austin Avenue) had been earmarked for closure for 17 months but the uphill side of the road will now be reopened to cars between four and six months earlier than planned.
A small area within the Forder Valley Nature Reserve will be closed from next month while works to build a drainage pond for the Forder Valley Link Road are carried out.
The entrance at the bottom of Novorossiysk Road and the two short sections of footpath linking to it will be closed from Monday 4 November.
The speed limit along Forder Valley Road and Novorossiysk Road will soon be lowered, ahead of main construction work on the Forder Valley Link Road scheme.
