Littering

Two young men have been handed massive fines after CCTV footage shows them throwing litter from a parked car window.

Yet more litter louts have been before the courts this week, with some ordered to pay more than £450.

In all, nine cases were heard by Plymouth Magistrates Court on Monday.

The court heard how each had been witnessed dropping litter by one of the Council's environmental enforcement officers and issued with fixed penalty notices for £100.

Three more litter offenders had their cases put before Plymouth Magistrates Court on Monday.

The court first heard the case of a woman from Keyham who in October last year left a collection of black bags in the service lane behind her property.

The bags containing mixed domestic waste was noticed by an enforcement officer over a week away from the next brown collection day.
