Billacombe Green is a species-rich field of neutral grassland with the most abundant grass species being:

- Red fescue
- Cock's-foot
- False oat-grass
Billacombe Green was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because it supports the nationally rare field eryngo.

- Ribwort plantain
- Red clover
- Lady's bedstraw
- Common restharrow
Occasional species include:
- Wild carrot

- Bulbous buttercup
- Field bindweed
This is one of the best wild flower meadows in the city and has been well managed for decades.
