Gypsy and Traveller Sites Study

These reports evaluate the potential of a number of sites to meet the accommodation needs of gypsies and travellers within the city. The criteria used in this consideration are based upon national guidance and good practice. There may well be other sites which come forward through the Local Development Framework process which will be considered against the same criteria and judgements may have to be made as to which sites are most suitable.

The draft Coypool report was prepared for us by LDA Design, to help when making a decision on future development of the IMERYS works site at Coypool. It reflects the planning and development context as it stood in 2006. It shows a range of development options that could feasibly be delivered, if and when the current use of the site ceases. This May 2006 draft document replaces an earlier (April 2006) version, which had been published in error. Further work on the options for this site will be undertaken and consulted upon as part of the process of preparing the Sustainable Neighbourhoods Development Plan Document.

Coypool Report

The second of these reports by LDA Design in September 2008 set the format and criteria for the assessment of sites which was followed by us who undertook the assessment of the other two sites at Ernesettle and Coombe Farm.
