North Prospect funding confirmed

North Prospect

We have now secured the £2.3 million promised to us by the government to fund the infrastructure for the fourth and final phase of the North Prospect Regeneration.

The regeneration, which has been supported by the Council's Plan for Homes since the very beginning back in 2010, has been successful in delivering over 1,100 homes for Plymouth people over the last ten years.

Council Leader Tudor Evans OBE said: "I am delighted that we have finally got this money, after having it promised and then withdrawn. It has been a long and drawn out affair but we were ultimately successful thanks to a bit of good, old fashioned lobbying.

"Making sure Plymouth gets its fair share of housing and infrastructure investment is very much what our Resurgam economic recovery and stimulus package that I announced at our Cabinet meeting on 5 May is all about.

"I'd like to thank our partners at Plymouth Community Homes, who have been so pivotal in this project, for all of their tireless work. Together, we have turned houses into homes and transformed North Prospect into an area that residents throughout the city can be proud of."
