Sustainable Travel Grants 2018
Organisations in Plymouth could apply for the 2018 Sustainable Travel Grants for up to £5,000 for schemes to make it easier for their staff to travel to work either by bike, on foot, or by bus.
Match funding of up to £5,000 was made available through Plymouth City Council’s Plymotion at Your Workplace programme, to provide facilities or initiatives to encourage employees to leave their car at home and make the switch to greener modes of transport.
This is the fourth time grants have been made available. Successful applicants are using the funding to provide improved cycle parking, enhanced shower and changing facilities, electric pool bikes and electric bikes to replace other forms of transport, and bespoke travel web packages.
The successful applicants for 2018 are:
- Bike Wise SW
- City College Plymouth
- Coombe Dean School
- Flint and Steel
- Plymouth Citybus
- Plymouth University
- Simon Bell Construction and Maintenance
- Thornbury Primary School
- University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
The grant was heavily over-subscribed and we were unable to fund every applicant. The fund will reopen in 2019.
