Sustainable travel grants

Businesses across the city are invited to bid for funding through our Plymotion Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme.

The Council is offering match funded grants of up to £5000 to provide facilities or initiatives to encourage employees to leave their car at home and travel to work by foot, by bus or by bike.

The grants could be used to provide facilities, including improved cycle storage or lockers for staff or initiatives such as a dedicated car share service to subsidised bus passes.

In 2015 the Millfields Trust successfully applied for a grant and commented that:

“The support from Plymotion scheme has enabled the Millfields Trust to purchase an electric bike. The bike has enabled our staff and tenants to make short journeys around the city, thereby reducing car journeys, and will encourage tenants to leave the car at home as they can use the bike once they arrive at work.

"It is available to our 86 tenants free of charge and is held in our central office in HQ. We are really grateful to the support of Plymotion and their foresight in supporting this green initiative”

Applications will be accepted between 8 May and 25 August for schemes to be delivered between April and December 2017 with all applications being assessed as they are received. Payment of any grant awarded will be made only when proof is provided to the Council that the scheme has been delivered.
