A38 Weston Mill to Camels Head

Image showing the website header.

The western section of Plymouth’s MRN forms a vital route from Cornwall and the west of the city into the heart of Plymouth. Connecting the A38 to the Dockyard and Naval Base at Devonport, it also crucially links onwards to the City Centre and Waterfront Growth area.

St. Budeaux By-pass with A38 Weston Mill, Carlton Terrace and Camels Head junctions.

The scheme will focus on the St Budeaux Bypass and its junctions at Camels Head and Carlton Terrace / Ferndale Road.

The scheme will upgrade the junctions to improve their operation with localised road widening to increase capacity which will reduce delays, congestion and journey times at this part of the MRN route. Improving the cycling and pedestrian facilities is also part of the scheme including upgrading the off-road cycle and pedestrian path along the St Budeaux Bypass and which connects to the recently upgraded Mowhay Road cycle-pedestrian bridge.
