Wixenford Quarry Marsh (CWS)

Wixenford Quarry MarshWixenford Quarry Marsh is located in the south east of Plymouth just off the A379 at Plymstock. The site covers 1.98 hectares and is privately owned and managed is not accessible to the public. A variety of habitats are present including, woodland, plantation woodland, grassland, swamp and still water.

The site is designated as a County Wildlife Site because of records of the scarce blue-tailed damselfly and keeled skimmer.

Notable plant species records include:

  • Yellow vetchling
  • Twiggy mullein
  • Marsh orchid (in spring)
