Woodland WoodAn area of species-rich grassland is located next to the north-west of the reserve, just to the south of Canterbury Drive.

Species include:

  • Red bartsia
  • Common knapweed
  • Yellow rattle
  • Common chickweed
  • Bird's foot trefoil
  • Red clover
  • Field buttercup
  • Crested dog's tail
  • Sweet vernal grass
  • Yorkshire-fog

This habitat provides good foraging opportunities for a variety of insects including:

  • Hoverflies
  • Bees
  • Moths
  • Butterflies
  • Spiders
  • Ants
