Economic development and social enterprise at Poole Farm

Poole Farm In addition to selling pork, eggs and bee products, we also offer room hire and can host a variety of events.

We have been working with Plymouth City Council’s Street Services teams to reduce the cost associated with the disposing of ‘waste’ timber from trees which have been cut/blown down across the city. At Poole Farm, we process the wood into planks and firewood which we then sell to local residents and volunteers.

As Derriford Community Park develops, we aim to become an environmentally friendly attraction, setting an example of ecotourism in the perfect location for walkers and visitors (active travel), with good public transport links, cycle networks and proximity to the A38. The animals of Poole Farm and reintroduction of the Eurasian beaver, along with plans for an interpretation centre, café, footpaths and cyclepaths, make this a unique attraction to Plymouth and the wider southwest region.
