Volunteering at Poole Farm

Poole Farm VolunteeringOur wonderful volunteers are the backbone of Poole Farm. They work with staff to maintain the farm, look after the animals and enhance the landscape through conservation activities. For many of our volunteers, Poole Farm provides a break from the stresses of everyday life and is a key part in maintaining their health and wellbeing. The experience and skills gained through volunteering have also helped many of our volunteers get apprenticeships or jobs in the environmental sector and helped to tackle social isolation. Not only do our volunteers help with conservation, they also help with animal husbandry, educational visits and events

We currently run volunteer days every Tuesday, which focus on practical conservation of the habitats surrounding Poole Farm. Activities include tree planting, coppicing, wildlife surveys, scrub clearance, gardening and horticulture, carpentry and hedge-laying. We have a step by step process for recruiting volunteers to ensure safeguarding measures are met and everybody has the same opportunity to volunteer with us.
