Sustainable Travel Grants 2018
In July 2018, organisations in Plymouth were able to apply for the Sustainable Travel Grants for up to £5,000 for schemes to make it easier for their staff to travel to work either by bike, on foot, or by bus.
Match funding of up to £5,000 was made available through Plymouth City Council’s Plymotion at Your Workplace programme, to provide facilities or initiatives to encourage employees to leave their car at home and make the switch to greener modes of transport.
This was the fourth time grants have been made available. Successful applicants have used the funding to provide improved cycle parking, enhanced shower and changing facilities, electric pool bikes and electric bikes to replace other forms of transport, and bespoke travel web packages.
The successful applicants for 2018 were:
- Bike Wise SW
- City College Plymouth
- Coombe Dean School
- Flint and Steel
- Plymouth Citybus
- Plymouth University
- Simon Bell Construction and Maintenance
- Thornbury Primary School
- University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
