One You

One You is the new Public Health England campaign which aims to help you avoid future diseases caused by lifestyle choices.

Reduced health in later life is not inevitable. Older people can live as well as younger people by making relatively small changes to their habits and lifestyles.

One You aims to help adults to move more, eat well, drink less alcohol and be smoke free. It will also provide information about how people can reduce their stress levels and sleep better.

It also provides a practical way for adults to look at their lifestyle in the form of a new online health quiz called 'How Are You'. The free quiz indicates which areas people should look to change and provides encouragement and tools to help them do so

Take part in the How Are You quiz

If you need help and advice on improving your lifestyle, such as giving up smoking, concerns about alcohol or your physical health then visit the Livewell South West website.

More information about the campaign is available on the NHS Choices website and you can follow the campaign on Twitter.

If all that sounds familiar, it's because the Council is already working hard to tackle the same behaviours and health and wellbeing issues through our Thrive Plymouth 10 year strategy. The Public Health Team is working to ensure that there is appropriate join-up between the national One You and the local Thrive Plymouth campaigns.
