Sport courses and workshops

We run a programme of nationally recognised workshops that are designed to develop skills and good practice principles within your club.

Workshops

  • Plymouth Life Centre
  • 6.30pm to 9.30pm
  • Certificated safeguarding course for sports coaches and other club members who come into contact with children and young people in their clubs
  • £35 per person, advance booking essential
  • This course is delivered by UK Coaching and is a requirement for coaching qualifications by most National Governing Bodies of sport
  • Plymouth Life Centre
  • 6.30pm to 9.30pm
  • Experienced Sports Development staff will guide you through how to successfully write a national lottery funding application. They will offer helpful tips and guidance on where to find local stats useful for evidencing local need.
  • £10 per person, advance booking essential.

  • You will learn how to use the major social media services including Facebook and Twitter. The SDU will explain the power of social media and how it can be used to help promote your club or activities you are running. By the end of this course you should be able to use social media with confidence, understand privacy and analytics. You are encouraged to bring your laptops/tablets and work through your profiles.

  • This course is delivered by the Sports Development Unit who have years of experience and insight promoting and analysing social media trends.

Places are limited and will be booked on a first-come first-served basis. Full payment is expected in advance to secure your booking.

We can't provide a refund to anyone who fails to attend on the day, unless they've previously informed us in writing at least 48 hours before.
