When you register a death you can use our Tell Us Once service and let us report the death to the following organisations for you:
- Department for Work and Pensions
- HM Revenue & Customs
- Identity and Passport Service
- Housing Benefit Office
- Council Tax Benefit Office
- The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority
- War Pensions Scheme
- Council tax
- Blue Badge
- Adult care and health
- Electoral services
- Library services
What you need
We'll need the following information about the person who has died:
- Death certificate
- Unique reference number
- National insurance number
- Details of any benefits or services they were receiving
Please remember it's your responsibility to make sure any organisation that pays a benefit has correct information.
