Rolex Fastnet Race
Come and join us in the Rolex Fastnet Race Village to celebrate the finish of this historic race.
Enjoy family fun on the waterfront!
This summer, Plymouth is welcoming the finish of the world-famous biennial Rolex Fastnet Race. Over 3,000 competitors in more than 400 boats cover a course of 605 nautical miles, going round the Fastnet Rock off the south west coast of Ireland, before returning via the Isles of Scilly to finish in Plymouth. Join us to welcome the return of the boats, and enjoy a programme of family friendly activity at the race village at Plymouth Yacht Haven.
Sunday 4 August
The first Rolex Fastnet boats are due to arrive in Plymouth on Sunday 4 August in the afternoon. The lead boats will be the superfast trimaran Ultimes. Take a wander along the waterfront and you may spot them as they arrive into Plymouth.
Tuesday 6 August to Thursday 8 August
Every day at the race village from 11am to 5pm there will be circus workshops, face painting, paddleboarding sessions and the opportunity to meet many of the competitors. All activities are free.
Have a go at circus tricks and acrobatics or have your face painted.
Enjoy a packed programme of live music on the stage.
Sample some of the best local food and drink from the Fastnet Crew Bar and food stalls at the Race Village, including authentic Thai food, locally sourced burgers, a hog roast and a Swiss café and patisserie.
Race around the Rock
Try a free paddleboarding session around our very own re-creation of the Fastnet Rock. Sign up with the Mount Batten Watersports team, in the Race Village. No experience or pre-booking needed. A great family activity for adults and children over 11.
Walk the Dock
Visitors are also welcome to ‘walk the dock’ to see many of the race boats and talk to the competitors after their gruelling race.
