Volunteer to be a clerk to a school governing body

If you're interested in how a school governing body works and the decision making process you could consider becoming a clerk to a school or academy governing body. You just need administrative experience in organising meetings, taking minutes and record keeping and an interest in procedures and policies, along with a willingness to learn and train.

As a clerk you'll work as a volunteer as part of a governing body that are responsible for making sure the school provides good quality education.
