Canvass of households
The register of electors is updated annually and for 2015/2016 it was published on 1 December 2015. The next register will be published on 1 December 2016.
This year's canvass of households will take place between July and November 2016.
We'll be sending nearly 118,000 household enquiry forms to households across the city asking you to confirm your details so the register is accurate and up-to-date and everyone who's entitled to vote can do so.
We've made it even easier for you to respond. You can now confirm, or add and remove your details by quoting the security codes printed on your form by:
- an online service
- an automated telephone line (0808 284 1425)
More than 30,000 households used this service last year.
If you don't return your form, we'll send a reminder followed by a visit from a canvasser who'll encourage you to complete the form.
