Why school meals are important
To learn children and young people need to be able to concentrate, and to concentrate you need to eat well.
Our school lunches are healthy, well balanced and nutritious. They are an important part of the day.
School meals preparation
All our meals are freshly prepared using fantastic local and seasonal produce. Much of it is organic from regional suppliers.
We treat those ingredients with absolute respect to ensure we make delicious and nutritious meals for young people.
How school meals help to provide a balanced diet
School meals are nutritionally balanced over the course of a menu cycle. A school meal provides up to three of your child's five-a-day portions of fruit and vegetables.
The meals follow the government's regulations but also consider what children want.
Types of meals provided
There is a daily selection of freshly cooked meals, salads and desserts, fresh fruit or yoghurt.
Our menus are seasonal, so we change the vegetables, salads and fruit options to match their availability.
Our menus change twice each year. For more information download our school's menu.
Vegetarian meals
There is a vegetarian option every day.
Special diets
We can accommodate many special diets with our meals.
Let your school know your child has a special dietary need and we will arrange for you to meet the kitchen manager. Or a member of the team to discuss how we can best meet your child's needs.
Recommended guidelines
All our menus are analysed to make sure they meet the current school food standards. The standards specify the food and drinks children should be offered at school, and what nutrients they should receive from their school lunch.
Tell Ed what you think
