Description

The premises comprises a Grade 2* listed four-storey mid 15th century property over four floors. As the name suggests it is understood that it was originally constructed as a merchants house, although its most recent use was as a museum and is currently vacant.

Historic England describes the property as comprising of stone rubble side walls, corbelled to each floor at the front, stone rubble to part of the ground floor and stone rubble to the rear gable end with rubble and stack, timber framed front and plastered jetted to each floor, slate roofs with a pair of steep gables at the front with moulded bargeboards with turned pendants. Windows are leaded single glazed with the combination of stone and wood frames.
