Crews on standby for Storm Bert

The Met Office has issued wind and rain warnings for Plymouth this weekend, as Storm Bert approaches.

A yellow warning of rain is in place from 6am tomorrow (Saturday) until 11.45pm on Sunday. A yellow warning of wind is also in place from 3pm tomorrow (Saturday) until 9pm on Sunday.

The storm is expected to bring strong winds and dangerous coastal conditions.

People are warned to expect flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto seafronts, coastal roads and properties. Please take care near the waterfront.

Mount Batten Pier will be closed from this afternoon.

Our crews are on standby to deal with any issues that arise. Flooding ‘hotspots’ have been inspected and are being closely monitored and gullies have been checked and cleared.
