The finishing touches are being applied to some of Plymouth's most impressive new homes.

The ten new energy-efficient, sustainable homes, built on site of the former Morley Youth Centre, off Broadland Gardens in Plymstock, are available in a mix of two, three and four bedroomed options.

With all main construction and fitting out now complete, and many of the houses already sold, work is now focussed on external works and landscaping before the project finishes completely later this summer.

Broadland Gardens is the Council's first direct delivery project this century. All ten homes are being sold on the open market with any surplus generated invested back into affordable housing elsewhere in the city.

Councillor Chris Penberthy, Cabinet member for Housing, Co-operative Development and Communities, visited the site this week.

He said: "Each and every time I visit Broadland Gardens I'm taken aback by the quality of the design and the build. They really do set the standard for the market.

"I think it's because of this quality that we have already sold so many. It's proof that modern, adaptable, energy-efficient homes with the latest technology can be delivered across Plymouth”

Heated with modern, energy-efficient technology, to help achieve low carbon living, particular attention has been paid to their design, so that they are adaptable and sustainable. They have been built by local construction firm Classic Builders.

The Broadland Gardens development has been funded through the Council’s Plan for Homes Investment Fund.

While five of the new homes have already been snapped up, five remain for sale.
