A programme of outdoor activities for young people, including free swimming sessions and youth clubs, is under way in Plymouth this summer.
The free events for 11 to 18-year-olds are based around the outdoor swimming pools at Tinside and Mount Wise, as well as at Poole Farm in Derriford Community Park.
They include:
Tinside Swim Safe Sessions
Every Monday from 3 June to 9 September, 1 hour sessions, 5pm to 6pm or 6pm to 7pm
Learn how to be safe in the water with opportunities for swimming lesson, snorkelling, junior lifeguarding and SCUBA.
For all young people aged 11 to 18.
Tinside Youth Night
Every Tuesday from 4 June to 10 September, 6.30pm to 7.30pm
This is an opportunity for young people to enjoy the Lido after the normal closing time. Come and swim or just hang out and enjoy the space with friends.

Mount Wise Swim Safe Sessions
Every Wednesday from 5 June to 11 September, 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Every Thursday from 6 June, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm for ages 10-13 and from 7pm to 8pm for ages 14-19
Want to make new friends and spend time outdoors? Come along to Poole Farm!
Feed the animals, learn fire building skills, take part in some outdoor cooking, play games, build dens, explore the woodland.

Summer treasure hunt by On Course South West
Tuesday 6 August at The Barn, Kit Hill Crescent, PL5 1EJ, from 10am to 12pm.
On Course South West are running a free Summer Treasure Hunt, where parents and children work together to solve puzzles, develop problem-solving skills, and bond through creative challenges. Learn basic code-breaking and map reading, navigate clues, and embark on a summer adventure! This course is perfect for families who want to have fun and learn together.

Poole Farm Special Education Needs Disability group
Every Monday from 3 June, from 1pm to 3pm
Do you want to gain valuable work experience, or need support finding education, training, or employment opportunities? Come along, learn new skills, work on the farm and take part in animal husbandry, gardening, practical conservation, and so much more. During this session, you can work towards digital badges that you can use to enhance your CV.
For young people aged 16-18 living with SEND, looking to learn new skills

Every Friday from 7 June, from 10am to 12pm
Come along, learn new skills, work on the farm and take part in animal husbandry, gardening, practical conservation, and so much more. During this session, you can work towards digital badges that you can use to enhance your CV.
