We are delighted that two Plymouth youth centres in Efford and Honicknowle will see further improvements made later this year.

The centres are already under-going extension and improvement works, funded by an earlier grant from the Youth Investment Fund. Now an extra £1 million has been made available from the Council’s Climate Emergency Investment Fund so that both buildings will benefit from solar panels and insulation. This will make both sites extremely energy efficient and environmentally sustainable.
We know that youth and community centres are a crucial asset as they provide safe spaces for young people to engage in positive activities, develop skills and build relationships. They can build a sense of community and belonging to all residents with access to resources and participation in programmes.
By investing in centres communities can support the wellbeing and growth of their youth and also enhance the overall quality of life for all residents.
