Wellbeing Hubs aim to improve people’s health and wellbeing by building a greater sense of community and bringing local services together in one convenient location. People can access the hubs for support to improve their physical and mental health, reduce social isolation and take part in new activities that support their wellbeing.

There’s a huge range of support on offer, with advice on different issues and signposting to services and activities that support wellbeing, which can include everything from craft groups and social events to support for those with long term health conditions.

Estover Wellbeing Hub, run by the ELM Community Trust, launched today (Wednesday 29 May) with free activities for families to enjoy including crafts and games, as well as information stands from local support services showcasing the range of help and advice on offer.

Councillor Mary Aspinall, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, said: “Wellbeing Hubs play a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of local residents across Plymouth, so it’s fantastic that we are now able to help people in Estover access joined-up, high quality information, support and services to help improve both mental and physical health.

“Each Wellbeing Hub is the result of close collaboration and strong partnership working between organisations supporting the local community, ensuring that each neighbourhood receives bespoke, relevant support.”

The new hub will become part of a wider network of hubs (led by the Wellbeing Hub Alliance) and join six that opened across the city between 2018 and 2020:

  • Jan Cutting Wellbeing Hub, North Prospect
  • Four Greens Wellbeing Hub, Whitleigh
  • Mannamead Wellbeing Hub
  • Mount Gould Wellbeing Hub
  • Rees Centre Wellbeing Hub, Plympton
  • St Budeaux Wellbeing Hub

Wellbeing Hubs are a priority for Plymouth City Council and NHS Devon, aiming to help people access the right type of help with earlier and easier access to advice and support, ultimately reducing the pressure on social care and health services.
