Plymouth comes together to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Councillors will take a moment to reflect at the full Council meeting on Monday (27 January).
The following day (28 January) a short memorial event will be held in the Council House at midday, providing an opportunity for communities and people of all faiths to reflect.
The event was due to take place in the Peace Garden on the Hoe, but following the forecast for heavy rain and high winds, the service has been moved to the Council House.

The Lord Mayor is hosting an invitation only event in the morning (due to space restrictions) to mark the day, a recording of this will be uploaded to our YouTube channel.
Holocaust Memorial Day is commemorated on the same day each year to remember the millions of people who were persecuted and died in the Holocaust and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
This year it marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp complex, and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia.
The theme set by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust for this year’s commemorative activities is ‘for a better future’ which recognises we can learn both from and about the Holocaust and more recent genocides, for a better future.
Councillor Tina Tuohy, Lord Mayor of Plymouth, said: “The day enables us to all come together and reflect. We hope that this can be an opportunity for people to come together, learn both from and about the past, and take actions to make a better future.”
Councillor Chris Penberthy, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Holocaust Memorial Day is for everyone, it is a day for us all to stand together and learn important lessons from the past.
“The day aims to bring people together to empathise more with people today, and work to build a better future.”
