About Park Tennis
Park Tennis Plymouth is a network of high quality public courts for all of Plymouth to access and play tennis all year round. The courts are all owned and run by Plymouth City Council who work in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association and various community partners.
There are four refurbished courts within Central Park and West Hoe at Radford park as part of the city wide strategy for tennis particiaption. The council is currently working on the long term future of other public tennis courts across the city. As courts are upgraded and improved to help with the long term maintenance we are making a small charge to play. Currently we are only charging for the new courts at Central Park and West Hoe which have been developed to a high standard to give a truly quality tennis experience.
There are two ways to access the courts:
Annual Tennis Pass
Each household can access 8 courts (4 at Central Park and 4 at West Hoe) all year round for a one off charge of £35 (concessions £25). Once you have your membership you can book and play anytime, all year round.
Pay and play
Exactly what is says on the tin – book a court, pay and then go and play. Simple and a great way to try tennis with your friends, family and colleagues.
Each booking costs £5 for one hour.
Central Park does have floodlights for play during darker days, there will be a small charge for these each time you book.
If this is the first time you have used our courts you need to register.
West Hoe Courts
Back in March 2020 we closed the courts to refurbish them to a high standard, just like the courts at Central Park. We have upgraded the surface to a high specification, added new nets and posts, a new gate entry system, new kick boards and chain fencing surrouding the courts.
The courts at West Hoe will work exactly the same as Central Park on a pay and play basis. You can register as a member for £35 a year or you can pay as you play at £5 an hour.
