Cann Wood (LNR)

vThe Andy Stevens Reserve

Cann Wood is a Local Nature Reserve located in the north-west of Plymouth immediately north of Whitleigh and south of Tamerton Foliot. This site covers 24 hectares (that's around 24 full-sized football pitches) and is a place where you can relax, walk, play and explore nature.

Cann Wood is a large site in which you can experience the outdoors and let free your wild sides! Why not take your family for a stroll enjoying the sounds and sights that the woods have to offer?

Cann Wood Reserve has been dedicated to the memory of Dr Andy Stevens who sadly died in 2005. He played a pivotal role in advocating the need to protect Cann Wood and in securing the acquisition of the land as part of a planning agreement. Andy worked as Nature Conservation Officer with us for over 10 years and worked tirelessly to champion the protection of the city's wildlife.
