South West Water sewer replacement works at Woolwell

South West Water are carrying out urgent works to replace a 40-metre section of sewer on Tavistock Road, part of which is cracked.

This involves digging a trench along the road, which means lane closures need to be in place 24 hours a day.

We know closing lanes on a busy route like this is disruptive but these works need to be carried out.

We are in daily contact with the contract manager at South West Water and making regular site visits to ensure everything is being done to minimise disruption wherever possible.

South West Water have announced today that they will be extending their working hours during the week and, where possible, carrying out work on weekends with the aim of completing the repairs as soon as possible.

Details of all planned works in Plymouth are available on our roadworks page, where you can also sign up for our weekly ‘roadworks roundup’ email.

If people need any further information or would like to comment on the works they should contact South West Water on 0344 346 2020.
