If you are a carer for a friend or family member with a disability or illness, you are eligible for an autumn COVID-19 booster vaccination. Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the person that you care for.
The Caring for Carers team is here to help if you would like to get your vaccine but are unable to leave the person you care for, or are facing any other struggles. You can call 01752 201890 for advice and more information about how they can support you.
Walk-in vaccination clinics
There will be a special walk-in vaccination clinic for carers at 156 Mannamead Road, PL3 5QL on Saturday 19 November 2022 from 10am to 4pm.
You are welcome to bring the person you care for with you and there will be a space for them to sit and enjoy a hot drink and piece of cake while they wait.
Caring for Carers is also holding a free Carers Rights Day event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday 25 November from 11am to 2pm. Here you can find out more about a host of organisations across Plymouth who can offer support and services to carers. There will also be a stand offering COVID-19 vaccinations and the chance to talk to a health professional about any concerns or worries you may have.

Young carers
If you are a young carer, or young adult carer aged 16 to 25, there’s a special vaccination clinic at Honicknowle Youth Centre, PL5 3PX on Tuesday 29 November from 5pm to 7.30pm.
Please contact the young carers team if you would like to attend the clinic for the vaccination or if you would like to talk to someone from the COVID-19 Vaccination Team. There will also be refreshments, activities and a chill out area available.
If you have difficulties getting to Honicknowle Youth Centre, the team can look at supporting you with transport.
