Budget

Unprecedented cost increases due to national factors mean tough decisions are needed to balance the budget.

Plymouth residents are being urged to give their views on the City Council’s plans to balance its books as it addresses a significant budget shortfall for next year.

The Council has launched a budget engagement exercise that invites residents to say which Council services they value the most and to give their views on ideas on its ongoing plans to reduce spending and raise income.

Council Leader Nick Kelly has welcomed the Chancellor's budget on Wednesday, saying it included announcements that would be benefit Plymouth.

Councillor Kelly said: "The ambition of this budget was impressive and there’s a lot in it for us to digest. We’ll be working out the impact on Plymouth when we have all the detail.
