An area of species-rich grassland is located next to the north-west of the reserve, just to the south of Canterbury Drive.

- Bird's foot trefoil
- Red clover
- Field buttercup
- Crested dog's tail
- Sweet vernal grass
- Yorkshire-fog
This habitat provides good foraging opportunities for a variety of insects including:
- Hoverflies
- Bees
- Moths
- Butterflies
- Spiders
- Ants
