About Plymouth City Council

We are the local authority for Plymouth. We provide services and information to many of the area’s 262,700 residents as well as businesses and visitors.

We are one of the largest employers in Plymouth. We employ over 2,500 people, covering a wide range of occupations including:

  • housing delivery officer
  • customer support assistant and many more

Local people are at the heart of our Corporate Plan. The plan places priority on delivering consistent, high quality frontline services while reducing inequality to deliver a fairer city that everyone can be proud of.
