If you can continue to store your waste safely at home then you should. Only visit the recycling centre if you cannot store your waste without risking injury or harm to your health and you can’t dispose of it by other means.
You can now dispose of all waste except:
- soil and rubble
- tiles and ceramics
- cardboard (please break this down and place it in your green bin or bag)
- bring-bank (recycling bank) materials
Measures are in place to ensure social distancing at all times and protect customers and staff. Staff are not able to help with unloading vehicles. There is no pedestrian access to the site.
Anyone who doesn’t comply with the social distancing guidance in place will be asked to leave. No-one should visit if they are unwell.
Vans will be allowed to use the site again from Tuesday 7 July, subject to the usual exemptions and restrictions. All vans will still require a permit - see our van permit page for further details.
Trailers will not yet be allowed. This is to reduce the time spent unloading, so that more customers can get through the site and to help keep queuing times down. As soon as we are able to allow trailers in again we will let everyone know.
A queuing system is in place to ensure everyone’s safety and help keep traffic moving along Laira Bridge and Billacombe Road. This is strictly controlled to maintain access for local residents and businesses, as well as Council waste trucks needing to get in and out.
You should be prepared for longer waiting times than normal.
The number of vehicles allowed onto the site is restricted, with a maximum of two adults per vehicle. Children are now allowed if you have to take them but they must stay inside the vehicle at all times, as would normally be the case on site. Please do not take dogs in your vehicle.
Visitors are asked to stay in their vehicles while queuing to maintain social distancing and to not get out on site until they need to.
Proof of address
You will need to provide proof of your Plymouth address, such as a council tax, gas or electricity bill, to use the recycling centre.
Please make sure this is clearly displayed in the windscreen so it can be viewed whilst maintaining social distancing measures.
Weston Mill recycling centre remains closed until further notice.
