Social distancing

Social distancing measures are in place and visitors are asked to maintain a two-metre distance from staff at all times. Staff are not able to help unload or carry waste, so people should only take items they can handle without assistance.

Accessing the site

A queuing system is in place to ensure everyone’s safety and help keep traffic moving along Laira Bridge and Billacombe Road. This is strictly controlled to maintain access for local residents and businesses, as well as our waste trucks. Please be prepared for longer waiting times than normal. You may be turned away if the site gets exceptionally busy.

There is a limit of two adults per vehicle. Children and dogs must stay inside the vehicle at all times.

Visitors are asked to stay in their vehicles while queuing to maintain social distancing and to not get out on site until they need to.

Vans and trailers

Vans and trailers may use Chelson Meadow. (Exemptions and restrictions apply.)

All vans and trailers require a permit - visit our permit page for further details.
