The position in Plymouth

Following the ending of free Covid testing for most people as part of the Government's 'Living with Covid' plan, from the end of March 2022 the figures showing the number of cases no longer provide an accurate picture of the levels of the virus within our community.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) monitors Covid rates nationally through its Coronavirus Infection Survey.

 

Covid-19 cases in Plymouth

During the week 18 June to 24 June there were 660 new cases confirmed in Plymouth, an increase on the previous week total of 407.

This is a rate of 251.8 per 100,000 people. This is above the current rate for England, which is 195.0 per 100,000 people.

The total number of confirmed cases in Plymouth since the start of the outbreak is 91,308.

Deaths from COVID-19 

A total of 395 Plymouth resident deaths have been associated with COVID-19 since the start of the outbreak. 

During the week 11 Jun to 17 Jun there were 3 Plymouth resident registered deaths associated with COVID-19. This is an increase on the previous week.
