All your waste must be contained inside the relevant Council provided bin/bags. You must not put any rubbish next to your bin/bags. If you have a bin the lid must be completely closed. If you have more household waste than you can fit in your bin/bags you can take it to your nearest recycling centre.

Swap your garden waste bin for a different size
If you have registered for garden waste collections in 2023 and want to swap your existing garden waste bin for a different size you can request this free of charge.
Submitting a request to swap your bin should take around 5 minutes. You will be asked:
- for your address
- to confirm the bin details we have for your property
- your contact details
Requesting additional garden waste bins
Registered properties can have up to 3 garden waste bins. If you have already registered you can still request additional bins.
You will need to buy a permit for each bin. This costs £49 per permit.
You must make sure you have enough space to store all your bins on your property when not presenting them for collection.
Submitting a request for additional bins should take around 5 minutes. You will be asked:
- for your address
- to confirm the bin details we have for your property
- to provide your contact details
- debit or credit card details
Replacing lost or damaged garden waste bins
If your bin is damaged or lost for any reason you can request a replacement.
Replacement bins are subject to a delivery cost of £20 per delivery.
Submitting a request for replacement bins should take around 5 minutes. You will be asked:
- for your address
- to confirm the bin details we have for your property
- to provide your contact details
- debit or credit card details
What goes in your grey garden bin/bag
You can put the following items in your grey garden bin/bag:
- flowers
- grass cuttings
- hedge trimmings
- plants
- twigs and branches up to 7cm in width
- weeds
Our garden waste gets composted for use in nearby agriculture. It's important not to contaminate it with the wrong things.
Do not put the following in your garden waste:
- food
- any invasive species such as Japanese Knotweed or Ragwort
- plant pots or trays
- soil or rubble
- vegetable peelings
- any other non-plant material
