Check your bin day

Your bins will be collected on an alternate weekly basis with one week domestic (brown bin) and the other week recycling (green bin).

When to put your bins out

Please note that all your waste must be contained entirely within the relevant Council-provided container with the lid completely closed. You must not put any rubbish next to your bin, even if it's in bags or boxes. If you find you have more household waste than you can fit in your container the excess can be taken to your nearest recycling centre.

Put your bins on the kerbside from 6.30pm the night before your collection day and return your bins to within your property boundary before midnight on the day of your collection.

Bank holidays

Your bins will be collected one day later than usual if there's a bank holiday.

Community collection points

Some areas of the city have community collection points with community bins for waste and recycling. These are collected and emptied as and when it is required.

Help to put out your bins

If you can't put your bins out due to a disability, and there's no-one in your home to help, you might be able to get an assisted collection.
