Plymouth Growth Board

The Plymouth Growth Board (PGB) is a private sector led partnership, bringing together representatives from important city organisations to collaborate and drive forward the economic priorities of Plymouth. Its members include key businesses and business organisations, Plymouth’s three universities and City College, the Local Enterprise Partnership and Plymouth City Council. The current Chair is Richard Stevens.

Plymouth's economic development is steered by the Local Economic Strategy (LES), first published by Plymouth City Council in 2006. In 2014 the Plymouth Growth Board oversaw a revision of the LES to ensure it better reflected the economic landscape we were working in. The result, looking forward to 2020, was six 'flagship' areas focusing on the city's economic priorities. A 2019-2024 refresh is being finalised.

The LES is also the foundation for the economic policies which feed into the Plymouth Plan.
